The old TTL prisms for KIEV-88 produced till 1990 have very high-quality optical glass and precision metering. The only one problem lies with the special battery of 6 volts. These batteries are no longer available. Therefore if you want to use the old TTL prism, it is NECESSARY for you to have this adapter. Just load 4 regular R44 batteries and use your perfect TTL prism on your Kiev-88 series camera successfully. It is closed hermetically. It protects the prism from accidental chemical leakage. BONUS!
